Beautiful work!

If not a trade secret, what is a "heat gun finish"?

How are your new tiles coming along?

It's all really great work, Dan. I think you have an awsome grasp of the true meaning of Arts and Crafts. I don't see copying here but real original thoughts with in the frame work of the movement. Thanks.

Very nice as always Dan. Very nice combination of woods. I went to the web site you show on the tips and tricks but don't find where it talks about the wax and heat gun. So how do you do this heat gun deal?

the heat gun pushes the wax around and makes it easy to shine, it melts into the cracks, joints and gaps.

Well Dan, I guess even us old dogs can learn new tricks! I'd never heard of this technique before. Thanks.

Nice project. Great workmanship.

bought my heat gun at harbor frieght for 9.99 … works good so far !

Thanks for all the great comments. I made three frames like this in a weekend a while back. About the time I listed the blog on the ebay hardwood seller.
The last 2 are waiting for the shellac topcoat and wax, as well as mounting the tiles. Not sure what tiles I will mount in them. This one is listed on ebay. If it sells with a good price, I may mount another set of the same tiles and go for a 2nd chance offer etc. The 3rd frame is a triptych tile frame. I have a set of handpainted Alice in Wonderland tiles…. reproduction of Lewis Carroll book plates from the first edition book, one-of-a-kind tile, by listed California artist RIVA.
