Nice! I made one of these about 30 years ago from mahogany and it still works and looks great. I had never seen another one since then.

Nice,
I like to build one.
How do you keep it from sliding?

The paddle goes thru the slot and then there is a cross piece underneath. Keeps the paddles from 1) falling over and 2) from sliding. Locks the paddles in place very nicely. Use felt on the part of the paddles that slide on the top on the runners.

Thanks.

I think this would make a great Xmas present.
I should be easy to batch them out.

It should be easy on the wraping too (the part that I dislike the most).

Can you post couple pictures to clarify the part underneath? Do you install the cross memeber after the paddle is in place or the cross member installed firs and the hole paddle is inserted through the slot and turned?

I am getting ready (preparing the lumber) for building this book rack. I am planning on build about a dozen or so as Xmas gifts. Just like to finalize the detials. Thanks for the help.
