Wanted a couple adirondack chairs to relax in this summer, so found the popular mechanics plans on the web and chose to build them, along with the side table. I chose cedar and put 6 coats of spar urethane on them, so hopefully they will stand up to the years of weather on them. I also got a cover that I'll put over them when not using, so that should help extend the life of the finish. It's surprising how comfortable they are!
