Project Information

I followed the Fine Woodworking plans for this and made it out of cedar. I wasn't crazy about the selection of cedar I had to work with, but overall it turned out fine. I need a set of four, so I may make one more out of cedar, and the other pair out of cypress. I'm still trying to decide whether I want to finish it, or let it age naturally.

Looks good Andrew , welcome to Lj's

You might consider white oak for one of the chairs …. a bit heavier, but maybe less cost for the materials,

Great chair. A good finish for red cedar is Superdeck Neutral. This product is made to cut down the green tones of treated wood, but will work fine on any outdoor wood. The Neutral tone gives a little extra push to the red of cedar while giving great protection.
