Project Information

Alright I know that this is glass and not wood, but I am in the process of making the lamp and I wanted to share this major accomplishment with all of you. This is my first stained glass piece and like all of my other firsts this one was a small project that turned out huge. I am making the base and should be done in a couple of weeks. So when it is all complete I throw it out there for all of you.

Thats great and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who puts on things from other mediums, we need a variety of materials and to see how well they blend with wood. This is great, and look forward to seeing the finished product.

Nicely done! I was hoping the lampshade was wood actually. I went the other direction, I've made the base of the lamp first but have yet to figure out how to put a nice shade on it. Look forward to seeing the lamp!

Very nicely done. I've done some stained glass work and I know the geometric shapes are more difficult than the irregular ones, especially if you're trying to get them all to line up. Keep us posted on the completed project.

Terrific, wood needs accessories on occasion and other skills come in handy for the do it yourself'r.

I love stained glass, I don't really have a place to do it currently though, tends to leave small bits of broken glass about the place that need to be cleaned up, so the workshop is not so good. Need somewhere with hard floors…

Good luck,
David.
