Project Information

This is actually the second "Teenager's Dream" project I did; I'll get the other one posted eventually.

Mom sketched up the initial concept for her daughter's room. The challenge was adding more closet space while the actual closet was being closed and stolen to expand mom's closet. The first idea included just a simple shelf above the bed, but adding the extra shelves and secret storage compartments at the head of the bed quickly became very enticing.

The wardrobe doors were originally going to be frosted glass, but after facing the reality that this was a teenager's room, we strongly felt that it would be best to use tinted plexiglass. Each side of the bed includes two drawers underneath with matching false front panels at he head.

In continuing the bedroom retreat, since there was plenty of floor space, we added a complimenting desk.

This project features frameless construction and was painted with oil-based paint. Accessories include 1/4" chrome shelf pins, chrome oval closet rods and cups, and ball-bearing drawer slides.

I'm jealous; I wonder when Ryan is going to build me one of these beds!

What a lucky girl, I'm sure she loved it and forgave you for taking her closet…LOL very clean and east for her to change the colors when ever she feels the need. Well done.

Wow, that's impressive. I wish I had been so lucky as a teenager. :)
