Project Information
this is a project that i was commissioned to make for a friends son and had a wonderful time doing this, its man valet box with one drawer. the wood used to make this are walnut, red cedar, curly maple and some very old poplar for the drawer bottoms, i used a elk antler nub for the drawer pull, as for the top handle piece, i cut into the top with my datto blade cranked at an angle and then finished it straight up and down, i glued in the curly maple and then cut into it with the table saw blade , i then glued in the walnut handle. i wanted it too look different and draw the eye more to it..i put three coats of tung oil in this and sanded it down to 600 grit..the handles on the side are from a heart pine fence post..all of the bottoms are set in a 3 /8 datto, and the top is a full width of walnut and has sap wood on both sides, i then glued a strip of red cedar onto that…i like how this turned out and hope my friends son will like it also..thank you for looking…grizzman
