Project Information

I have been busy prepping to end my time in the Marine Corps but have still found time for tool making. Here are a few recent saws and a marking gauge I've made over the past couple months. I'm pretty stoked about the marking gauge and am happy to say that it works well and features a micro-adjust.

All the tools are made from raw stock. Here are a few pictures of the process if anyone is interested.

Great looking saws. What kind of finish did you use?

Very fine work sir.
Was/is the rising sun your mark? If so, do you brand all of your tools in one way or another?
Congrats with the end of your service as well.

Remind me to talk to you about making a much-improved version of the LV pocket marking gauge sometime.

Erik, in your last pic, is that a mortise gauge of your design, as well?

Some very beautiful work there Erik. On the one hand I greatly envy your metal working skills , but on the other hand, my wife told me I better stop making tools and start making projects! I loved the saw totes and I'm wondering what kind of wood you used for them. I wish you all the best for your coming civilian life.

Thanks for the kind words, gents. I struck a deal with a woodworker/web designer a little while back; a set of saws for a website. He did a whole new design on my original logo…some feedback would actually be nice so here it is. The top would be the main logo and the others would be for different applications when it doesn't work to use the full design.

Great looking tools, Erik!
Love the woods in your totes, and the sweet marking gauge!

Hope you continue making hand tools after the Marines…how about a link to your website? I like the main logo, and the first one underneath the best…

The website isn't up an running yet. I have a big move coming up so the shop will be down for about a month, looking to have the website up in February.
