Project Information

This is another commission.. a tea box… made from Narra [New Guinea Rosewood] with Purple Heart splines… the insert in the top is Huon Pine and the dividers are European Walnut…small finger grooves on the side to enable the top to be removed… it is a piston fit…

I have never seen a tea box (we use canisters here in the states). That is a beautiful box, nice wood combination. Did you select woods based on what the box was being used for?

I LOVE tea boxes like you love boards… this is a beauty!
I usually line mine with felt, but I love the look of your bottom ;-)
... of the box, of course!

Very nice. I like the splines and the notches to remove the lid. The dividers are nice too. Wondering what finish (if any) you used on this.

Very nice looking tea box. I like the staggered design of the compartments. I've always liked these and wanted to make one, but I don't really drink tea. Guess I'll have to find someone who does.
