Project Information

I recently picked these two micrometers up from a Craigslist ad. Once I got them all sorted out I decided I needed to keep them in a box for protection. I had this piece of Hard Maple left over from building my Roubo bench a few years ago. I resewed it to make the box and lid and went at it with the router.. I got a set of hinges and some rare earth magnets for the closures. Only hangup was a chunk was taken out on one of the corners when I was beveling the edges. Oops.

I didn't have any template or anything like a router guide so I just drew an outline in pencil and did it by eye. It certainly isn't anything that would be mistaken for a factory made box from Starrett but it holds these two, with the standard included, just fine.

Thanks for looking, and have a great day.
