Project Information

The rosewood for this saw and the following saws was provided by a buddy. I made this as a show of appreciation for favors traded back and forth and whatnot. He also lasered all the logos on a 1/2 dozen or so plates for me. I should probably make him another just for that :)

Alright, so. Brass back, sawnuts, and handle template from Blackburn Tools. Isaac makes some great stuff. I highly recommend it. http://www.blackburntools.com

It has an 8" .015 plate. 1-3/8" under spine. Filed 16 ppi rip. The logo could've been lasered a little hotter but beggars can be choosers.

Handle shaped with rasps. Scraped and then sanded with abranet up to 600. I used a drum sander to take the templates off and a large mill file to smooth the faces. Finished with renaissance wax and buffed.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks man.

Yeah. Unfortunately, the guy who gave me the coco expected me to use it… otherwise… you know what my first choice would be…

Fridge, major craftsman skills on display. Anyone would be happy to have one of your saws in their till.

I didn't mean that like you read it.

Thanks Andy. I will do my best not to reply with something like,"nice catch on the backend." That could be misconstrued:)

Pretty saw. I think I like a lower hang angle than you do, but I could be wrong.

That is a fine looking saw. Thanks for the link as well. This is another hand tool I really want to make.

I saw the Circle K cup and immediately thought about Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. But that was after I got done drooling over all of the pictures of the saw. Looks like you could make a saw like that for the Spring Swap and the only people that would be disappointed would be the ones that didn't get one.

Much appreciated.

You never know Earl. I have to mill some backs and replenish hardware and plates first though.
