Project Information
Three years ago this month I bought the Toys and Joys plans for the 35 Ford # 46 and gave it a try but was out of lumber at the time so tried using pine.
Boy was that a pain way to soft so would leave marks if bumped while working so have steered clear of it ever since.
So this time I used oak and it has some nice figure to it but had to work around the worm holes and cracks, but was well worth the effort.
When some one gives you free oak with lots a figure you don't complain about the worms. LOL
This was my fourth try at making spoke wheels for my older cars.
All the holes for the tooth picks are drilled by hand haven't tried making a jig for it so far.
I really enjoy making these older cars a fairly quick build not counting the wheel building time.
I just noticed the pictured don't show off the grill very well so.
Here's the blog of the build.
