Project Information

This is the project I made for the Summers Woodworking 3rd annual 2×4 contest. Made from one Home Depot pine 2×4. The seat is turned and scooped out on a lathe. All joints are mortise and wedge tenons. A coat of Minwax Gunstock stain is applied with a few coats of lacquer to finish. You can watch the video of the process here:
I did have one question, " Is it morally wrong to use a Lie Nielsen 4 1/2 smoothing plane on a 2×4?

by how it turned out i think it would be wrong not to use that plane. Besides tools are meant to be used.

Nope! It's all wood so I would use the plane. Nice stool by the way!
