Project Information

This is my second pen turned on my new lathe. The first one was of acrylic but this one is made from Zebrawood.

Nothing fancy to note except that I used the Micro Mesh system for the first time and took the finish up to 12,000. Then a coat of Crystal Coat and it was all done. This is a slimline kit with the black strip. I thought the strip might help highlight the Zebrawood striping.

Thanks for taking a look.

Yes, you are hooked on the lathe now. Pens are a lot of fun. This is a good looking pen. I like the Zebra wood also. The contrast and light color wood looks good. It gets more of a look than some of the darker woods. Let me suggest that you try some Wedge wood for pens, and Narra. The Wedge wood is dark and very hard, but has fine yellow lines in it and the Narra is also hard and easy to turn. I just got a box full of Striped Narra from Spa City Woods and this is my second box of 30 pieces. But love the pen. Think that I will buddy up so that I can watch what you are making. Good job

You did this pen just 'write'. Bwah, ha, ha - sorry. Couldn't help it. It looks great and I'll bet it has a nice feel to it as well.
