Project Information

These are my contribution to the Mallet swap. I didn't get a picture on the pen I made for Ty. I made the items from a red maple I had cut down three or four years ago and let the log lay in the yard. When I cut it up because of the cracks I couldn't use it for bowl blanks I saw the spalting. The awl was made from an old easy out I have several so sacrificing one for an awl was a no brained. The one picture shows a guy celebrating with a toast on the completion of the mallets. The last picture shows where the wood almost made it to the fire pit.

Nice work!! I never thought of using an easy out, I've been using masonry drill bits. That's a nice spiral.

Most excellent work as always WM1 :) Fantastic wood selection. The fact that it came from your own yard is big bonus points IMO!
