Project Information

Here are my first 6 attempts at the cheese slicing boards. woods used were mainly Maple and Walnut , with some Cherry, Purpleheart and Hickory.
I came up with a good way (at least for me ) to make the cuts for the hardware. I used the sliding miter saw, with an
Code:
3/4" spacer to hold board out from fence and used an
3/4" x 3/4" square stock placed in front of other spacer and set the back of the board on top of the 3/4" x 3/4" piece to tilt the board. I set the depth stop on my saw to get just deep enough to get past the hole drilled in it, so I could get the wire on it, and just a small kerf in front. Once set up, just one cut and your done, and you don't have to cut the back of the board out. The only thing is I probably should have used a thinner blade, but you learn as you go.

Thanks for looking, Scott

Sweet. Those are some very nice designs.
The curf seems a little wide, but what the heck, they probably work just fine.

Good job,
Steve

Thanks for looking and the nice comments.

They are all end grain, #3 I just used wide pcs of maple and staggered the pattern (Purpleheart and Cherry) glued back again and then cut to size, and the forth one was 4 slices left over from a Cutting Board in my previous post. It's hard to tell from my pic's but @1,3, & 6 are chrome hardware and the others are the black.

Where did you get the cheese slicer mechanism with the handle and wire?
