Project Information

I made 4 or 5 of these in 2010 and 2012. I thought the nicest looking one was the one made from Yellowheart. I gave that one away as a gift.

I used to be able to buy Yellowheart in 3/4×4 boards from Rockler, but they discontinued carrying it. Over the last few years, I accumulated about 6 of these boards from various other sources.

I decided I wanted to make to keep for myself, and I had enough yellowheart to do it.

Most of the plane is yellowheart except…...

Red Oak…........engine body, main axle

Birch dowels….......8 engine cylinders, 4 wing struts, 2 landing gear dowels, rear dowel support

Birch?.........2 spoked wheels

You can see my Trials & Tribulations on my woodworking web site here.

Thanks
