Project Information

This is a serving tray that I made from a 1906 antique piano that I repurposed. This is the original veneer that was hidden under 3 coats of paint. The oak is the subwood under the veneers of the same piano. I actually made 2 of these. This one I gifted to the family who donated the piano to me. I always gift the piano donors something made from their piano. Harvesting the wood from these 900lb beast takes a lot of hard work but the wood is worth it.

No such thing as bad painted wood, because you never know the beauty beneath the paint, until you look.

Nice save, and clever repurpose.
