I second Jim's comment about it looking like bamboo as that's the first thing that came to mind when the picture appeared.
Looks modern, with clean lines and minimalist details. I think you do well on your hardware selection here.
I know this has nothing to do with the wood, but might I suggest that you put in a new outlet and switch on the wall to match the newer switch plate and outlet cover? (Sorry, my eye just natural gravitates towards these things.)
What's behind those doors? Birch plywood or something similar? What did you build the drawers out of?
