I just started woodworking in April of 2009, when my college age daughter said "Daddy, do you have a card table I can borrow until I get a desk?" and I responded, "I can do better than a card table!" A desktop and set of shelves to put on top were my first project, and so started my journey. I always thought I would start woodworking when I retired, but I'm 15 years from retiring, and here I go!! I'm loving it. I've been bitten by the bug, and I've got a bad case. Found out, and remembered, that my father was an accomplished budding woodworker. He did a lot of built-ins in the home that I moved away from when I was 5. He kinda dropped the hobby after that. I guess running his own contracting business and raising 8 children kept him busy enough. I am now in possession of a 2-kneewell desk with a hardboard top he built for my 2 oldest brothers some 50 odd years ago, still rock solid. It sits in my workshop now as another work table. Now that he is gone, I really appreciate having it around me every time I step into the shop. Thanks Dad!

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless
