Started woodworking in the early 90s thanks to Norm Abram and the New Yankee Workshop.
I work in a 16' x 24' shop that I built besides my house. My formal training and work experience as an engineer play a big part in how I approach my work. I like to do a lot of research when designing news pieces. I mostly work from plans I make using Sketchup and often build prototypes out of construction lumber to figure stuff out...or convince my wife that what I design will fit its intended spot in the house ;-) I enjoy working with hand tools but I am not a zealot. I use the tool that produces the best result, whether it is a hand tool or a power tool. I like many styles of furniture. My dream, aside from moving to a larger shop, is to one day build the Blacker House chair.
