Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself almost a year ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

I am fairly new to LJ and was looking for people in my general area. You are with in 1/2 hour of my shop. I used to live in BrookHaven Pa. but now live in Delaware. Moved here 16 yrs ago. Hope you can tell me some good sources of hard wood in the Delaware county Pa. and New Castle co. DE. I have been limited to the Big box stores and would like to make some Christmas presents. I now I can get some at Wood Craft In New Castel but I would like to find it cheaper if you know what I mean.

Hey walt, nice to here from some locals that are making some saw dust too.We have been in Ridley park for about 6 years prior to that we lived in Sharon hill .you wanted to know where to get hardwood we’ll there are three places i know of .the first is in Aston i think its called Delaware County or Delaware vally supply its right off I-95 off of 452 i think. Its been a while since ive been there they have just about everything in stock although there are a little pricie too.also i never realy liked it there they mostly deal with comercial contractors and do not seem to have much time for the hobbiest like myself,u realy should know excatly what u want when you go there cause if you dont youll get the eye roll like your wasting there time if you know what i mean. The second is a place called Hernshardwood i’ll see if i can post the link this place i loved its a mill and have alot of domestics and imported lots of wood and there web site is great they give u most of the prices is the link last this place i just found. this guy is up around Oxford vally mall his name is Mike W. Quinn and has all these trailors on his property seems to have alot and awfui nice guy. his address is 1654 Dobry road, yardly pa 19067 Phone is 215-493-6252.his place is a little trickie to find but worth the trip i also thougt his price on the figured maple i bought was good.So good luck with you projects and let me know how u make out with the wood.

He thanks for the information I am Aware of Delaware valley supply and I know what you mean about the attitude. Your link to is a good one that location is about 35 min form my house. I plan a road trip next Sat. Currently I am making a portable sanding center to reduce the dust and have three other shop projects planned, an Air filter, a DaDo saw and chipper box( I recently obtained one with no box) dovetail jig center. No need for Hard wood Yet but I will need some in November for a project I plan for the holidays.
Thanks again for the assistance
