I am an assistant editor, and have worked on a variety of feature films, TV MOWs and episodic TV shows since the mid-90s. Of course, the work is freelance so I'm always looking for the next project. However, I enjoy woodworking and downtime between shows is inevitable so it's a hobby I'd like to use to generate income. To that end I've designed some bed swings--porch-type swings large enough to hold a twin-size mattress. I'll be including some photos in my project gallery. My latest style can be broken down for shipping, although it's still a sizable parcel, roughly 90" x 40" x 12". I haven't yet shipped one so I'm interested in any advice/comments about shipping something that size; I've gotten the links to a couple websites that put an item out for bids, the bigger question for me at the moment involves packing.

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.

To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.

Please enjoy your membership.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
