March 2013 to October 2013, I built my cupboard. Construction period, around 150 hours.
I love the black French polish and make them like her. For this purpose, the tin, which I have poured.
If the cabinet is opened, it changes its appearance completely. I have all the surfaces with “Golden Madrona” veneer. This is one of my favorite pieces.
The pictures are self-explanatory.

Here you can see the video on YouTube for presentation.

Greetings Uwe

This is a very impressive piece of work! Well done and thank you for sharing with us. Many hours have been invested in it and it shows. Can you share some details of the “Black French Polish”? It looks like Japanese laquer from your pictures.

Hello Jim,
I made a video of black polish. Here I show how I polish the surface uniformly black.
I sprinkle black color pigments on the faces and polish them with. These pigments I also dyed my shellac. Beware if I take too many pigments, the surface becomes dull.
From minute 4:30 in the video.
I think that’s even without the German language to understand it to understand.
After I still see how I put the tin inlay free again with alcohol.

Excellent piece, it shows you put a lot of effort into this cabinet. I really like the weight of the thick drawers and the black is very nice
