Know the feeling… bloody hard to smuggle internet gear across the border… Had to leave mine back home in Hungary when escaped cross the border to Austria back in 1956.

”chargers” can only hold so much!

I believe we are all Guinea pigs in this new age of internet.

Internet is now very much required by all of us in our day to day lives and I mean required. Paying bills , accessing information, keeping Tax records, Socializing like here at LJ,s, the list is infinite. However, I believe internet and other things that go with it like Routers, Bluetooth, Web browsers, Search engines, even Computers themselves have not been perfected and it is our generation that is the experimental generation. We STILL are very much the Guinea Pigs.

How often do you sit down at your computer and something isn’t working right? The router needs a reset, or Bluetooth device not compatible or search engine only bringing up what it thinks you want to read, or your computer is slow because its full of cookies that you had no say in putting there. Or your Apple I pad wont connect to your Microsoft files. I mean honestly the whole thing doesn’t work properly. Ever tried having a phone conversation with both ends using internet on a program like Skype or whats app, its almost impossible.

We are the Guinea Pigs, The so called Tec wizards haven’t perfected this whole thing. We have all become used to substandard internet and services that simply doesn’t work properly. I believe we are still in the experimental phase and we have all become so used to these sub standard services. We have now become accustomed to services that are substandard.

There is other examples of this experimental phase of the Tec era out there, One that comes to mind is Facial recognition Entering into the USA in LA these days is supposed to be all on facial recognition, I went there a few times and it kind of worked now they are back to checking everybody passport. Their new system simply does not work.

Anyways there isn’t a lot I can do to change what I am ranting about except to try and reduce my requirements for the experimental internet and its services.

Rob, enjoy the Farm and great job emptying the container yesterday, nice one.

Cheers Anthm27

That’s why antman, like clamps, you can never have enough routers (or trimmers... and I don’t mean for hair)...
and speak for yourself… I am not a Guinea pig, I am a duck!

Your always good for a laugh Duck, and let me tell you that your very lucky. Id prefer to be a Duck than a Guinea Pig
Cheers
(P.S. Gone Fishin for the morning)

EDIT: I was just thinking ,The pleasure of being on the water catching fish will never ever be replicated by a stupid computer or the internet. Do kids still go fishing these days? I cant remember my life without a fishing Rod. One of lifes greatest pleasures. Standby for pics later this afternoon when I get back to my stupid computer.

Bovine faeces! I’ve got a computer, got internet and can go phishing with a glass of vino in my hand, without getting my arse wet in any stupid pond.

OK , we did this all without Internet or Computer.

3 x Mackerel 4 x Tuna, I had to open the bottle of San Migueal so Lovie could make the beer batter for the boneless Mac fillets

Hell antman, how big is your property… my backyard pond is barely big enough to get my feet wet, let alone launch a boat…
S’pose without lockdown restrictions, you can import your own lake.

Where’s rc?... Pushing the boat or hot airing the sails? I thought he was visiting.

Cheers Gents, Very enjoyable , we,ve been fortunate to have the Mackerel running here this summer.
Duck we launch here in Hong Kong , all caught in the good ol South China Sea (amazing I know that there is fish left, but I got a few secret spots) .

EDIT: And RC is taking care of business on the farm in Kyogle, I have to ring him shortly, hes got no internet . I,m having to relay to him all his replies on his blog.

Tell the tight arse to upgrade his tin-can with string to a mobile phone or brush up on his smoke signals…
