« Part 7: Molly's Memorial Cross Pt 1 Part 8 of Red IronBark Adventures series no next part

well after plodding away with all the great comments I decide to redo the cross piece.

I had thoughts of turning the first one into a bone as suggested, but I put is aside for the time being and and tried an another approach.

I used my3D carver system along with my Milescraft letter routing system to produce the result

A bit slower and more clumsy than a CNC but there you go.

And the final result

Next it was off to the silversmiths Office
LBD would have been proud of me I had my white gloves on!

Then a run through the drum sander

and the final effect

I prefer the silver leaf one ?

but who knows, I will wait for them to arrive, ...just got an up date 47 Deg C at Singleton! phew ee!

Oh almost forgot the image is just a test run, the final picture will be full frame image.

Rob, That’s some fancy routering sir…

May I suggest some a little finishing on the end corners rather than square edged??

Hay mate,
That is Brilliant, very well done.
The silver leaf is great. any more pics of how you did that????(((Milescraft letter routing system)))
Lets see it in action, great results.
Whats the white stuff? some sort of glitter paint?
All round great job that.
Would hate to think how much its going to cost you to get it sent to Menai.
Cheers
Anth

The lady is a bit boring I will see if i can find a better video

You need cotton gloves on too as the leaf will stick to your skin

And this is the glue

Thanks Mike!
The things we do for our kids.

In fact Daniel (son) Sara (DIL) and their kids No1 daugher Caitilin and No 2 daughter Emilly will be here in a few days they can make all the decisions for the final design for me so I can complete it to suit their needs and then the girls can do the finishing coats.

Should be some good pictures to post then.

Rob, the silver leaf one is really great looking and great artistry but I still prefer the dog bone shape and maybe a round over bit on both pieces to smooth it out. jmho
Whichever way you go will be the right way, we all know that

Steve, and you add drought and awful bushfires if horrible!

There are bushfires all around Sydney, across NSW but the biggest south of Singleton all the way to Sydney has burnt out nearly 1000000 acres….

Send some of that wet cold white stuff downunder in the form of soaking rain!!!

Yer Crowie, not good, Happy to hear your home is safe at the moment though.
The toll on wildlife will be horrendous, Snakes will be decimated, and I hear Koalas could be wiped out over these fires.
Anyways have a good weekend.
