« Part 6: Finishing the post the rain halted work on Pt2 Part 7 of Red IronBark Adventures series Part 8: Molly's Memorial Cross Pt 2 »

I have actually been doing something worthwhile.
No 2 son and the family’s little dog expired so I suggested I make a memorial

I uncovered my stash of Red IronBark and set to work.

This is my basic concept idea

and a tech drawing to support.

I got to this stage but thought it all looked a bit too chunky

So I stopped for a head scratch, as they will all be here in a few days so it will be a combined effort to complete it.

No 1 is an area for date etc No 2 is for the image at the start of the blog.
There will be a half lap joint joining the structure.

In the mean time I wonder if you have any thoughts / suggestions?

clunky ?? the picture of Molly looks like she was a pretty good sized dog and the memorial (IMHO) should reflect that.
A cross with the cross member in the shape of a bone – totally fitting

Nice piece of Iron Bark, RIP Molly.

Hay, I see your High school project went to DT3 and did a lot better than the other students.

Have a good weekend.

rc, I appologise for joking about this sensivive issue, however, they should have had a magpie… better contrast,

while I’ll give myself an over generous “E” for effort, I need to brush up on my photo to laser technique… BUT, a big BUTT, that requires reading… a lot of reading.

Other than that, with a lot of perspiration, I’m out of inspiration

Late thought… Like recycle said, the ends shaped like a bone… you should be able to do marvels with that,

Blame me Duck! If I had been paying attention, I would have converted that picture for you to use for engraving… I will put myself in time-out until 2020!

Don’t regret, it’ll probably be a couple of years before you land another DT3… such gems are hard to find.
