The miter slots extend all the way through the extension table because I use a Taper Jig which has to extend past the blade for the cuts (of course) and it needs almost the full width of the folddown table miter tracks within which to slide.

    Hey Rich.
I wanted to elaborate on the comment that you made regarding the diamond willow cane and the stregth….
I use a Diamond Willow Cane every day for all use including when I am hiking in the woods looking for wood for carving. I weight 350lbs and have never had issues with the strength. I even sit on the handle and use it as a leaning post when standing for hours for the Patriot Guard Riders. I have also made other canes and walking sticks with out issues. My willow is collected from Northern Minnesota where I live.

Hi Rich, I'm from Cedar Rapids too. I wanted to drop by and introduce myself. I'm new to LJ. I don't have anything on my site yet….but I'm working on getting a few past projects up. I was doing some research for local woodworking clubs - do you know of anything worth a dang?

    Hey Rich,

Thanks for the comment on my phone cabinet. I read a lot of american magazines/blogs and the timbers are so different. I've never seen popular or maple.

I was so impressed with the myrtle with is subtle colours and ease to use that I've recently (6 months ago) purchased 500kg of it.

The plan is a shaker dinning table. I have to finish a few other projects first.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

    God Bless
