Boy and Girls, I hate reviewing products that I haven put through the wringer, however, this was too big to put in the laundry, let alone the washing machine. While I needed them desperately a few weeks ago, it has been on back order for over 3 months and just arrived yesterday (circa 2022-02-03). Consequently, the project it could have been tested on is completed and I can only go through the motions of evaluating it without the appropriate real life stresses (other than on me). This a...

good for most clamping, not all

good for most clamping, not all

I’ve had these BORA parallel clamps for a year or so and wanted to jot down some opinions of them for everyone. Generally I like them. They are smooth to operate, intuitive (lift up on the handle to release and move the head), can apply a huge amount of clamping pressure, I like the little elevation foot thing on the far end of the clamp, the spacers are nice, build quality is good. Really, for regular clamping I don’t have any complaints and they have been great. However, l...

Boy and Girls, I thought I’d do a review of this gizmo for all the members that drool over the Fe$tool SYSVAC yet begrudge the shekels to pay for it and may be seeking a gentler hip pocket alternative. Not everyone can see the need for a vacuum clamping system, however, if you are adventurous enough, this may be the camel that broke the straw’s back and provide some degree of inspiration. Before I go into the cons, compare the shekels of $400 (Aust) for a GRABO Pro as compared t...

"Dog Clamps" with a bite.

Boys and Girls, Many of you may recognise me as ”the fool and his money are easily parted”… I purchased this gizmo and then spent the next few days devising what to do with it.Just kidding… right from the onset I imagined them as dedicated low profile clamps... I already had a full kennel of dogs. Initially I only wanted 2 (like my clamps that I buy in pairs), but being a thrillseeker, opted for 4… in fact I was so impressed prior to purchase, I managed to con 2 other woodworkers i...

Surprisingly Handy GearKlamps

Surprisingly Handy GearKlamps

I have found these gear driven clamps to be particularly helpful repairing antique rocking chairs. Since the handle is in line with the clamp bar, you can access tight spots that would be impossible with a traditional F-style clamp. In addition to the greater access in difficult to reach areas, I simply like the clamping action of the GearKlamps. They will never fully replace my collection of parallel and pipe clamps, but I think I’ll look to these instead of standard F-style clamps as I a...

Fe$tool VAC $Y$.

Fe$tool VAC $Y$.

Boys and Girls, I have been both lampooned and criticised in the past for my incestuous affair with Fe$tool and I don’t even have shares in the company. Not having noticed any mention of this system here at LJ, I can only assume no one owns the unit or are too ashamed to fess up to their capitalistic tendencies (“NASA laboratory”) due to derision by other members. Not wishing to disengage the more frugal members of Lumberjocks, I won’t refer to them as conscientious pe...

Bessey Upgrade... cause I can!

Boys and Girls, If you happen to be a Bessey clamp tragic or pay homage to the quality gods, this may be of interest and just skip to the next paragraph, otherwise you can save me time by not wasting the review and force me to translate into ”Philistineese”… and may I bid you French Moses. I had the pleasure of spending a few+ shekels in buying and eventually reviewing Bessey K-Body Revo Vario Clamps... If you read the review, you may be under the apprehension that I love t...

The 32” CLAMP RACK-IT SYSTEM includes a 32” base plate, 3 large arm sets (13” long), 2 small arm sets (10” long), and the necessary hardware – current price $155 + shipping. I purchased this unit last fall (2019) The Rack-It System is capable of holding 6 Bessey Revo clamps per large arm and 4 Bessey Revo clamps (or 9 Jorgensen bar clamps) per small arm. Summary: While the overall unit is quite sturdy, I gave this 3 stars due to some MAJOR shipping mistakes an...

Light Duty All Purpose Trigger Clamps

Light Duty All Purpose Trigger Clamps

These trigger clamps compete well with another brand of quick clamp you may be familiar with. The red trigger release is well positioned, and the overall size of the clamp is adequate and the grip feels good in the hand. These are light duty clamps, and while I wouldn’t use them for panel glueups, they certainly are handy to have in the shop. They’re perfect for gluing up a jewelry box or general shop clamps. The first picture shows size comparison between the EHKM and the competition. ...
