Surprisingly Handy GearKlamps

I have found these gear driven clamps to be particularly helpful repairing antique rocking chairs. Since the handle is in line with the clamp bar, you can access tight spots that would be impossible with a traditional F-style clamp. In addition to the greater access in difficult to reach areas, I simply like the clamping action of the GearKlamps. They will never fully replace my collection of parallel and pipe clamps, but I think I’ll look to these instead of standard F-style clamps as I a...

Fe$tool VAC $Y$.

Fe$tool VAC $Y$.

Boys and Girls, I have been both lampooned and criticised in the past for my incestuous affair with Fe$tool and I don’t even have shares in the company. Not having noticed any mention of this system here at LJ, I can only assume no one owns the unit or are too ashamed to fess up to their capitalistic tendencies (“NASA laboratory”) due to derision by other members. Not wishing to disengage the more frugal members of Lumberjocks, I won’t refer to them as conscientious pe...

Bessey Upgrade... cause I can!

Boys and Girls, If you happen to be a Bessey clamp tragic or pay homage to the quality gods, this may be of interest and just skip to the next paragraph, otherwise you can save me time by not wasting the review and force me to translate into ”Philistineese”… and may I bid you French Moses. I had the pleasure of spending a few+ shekels in buying and eventually reviewing Bessey K-Body Revo Vario Clamps... If you read the review, you may be under the apprehension that I love t...

Clamp storage option if you aren't able to make your own

The 32” CLAMP RACK-IT SYSTEM includes a 32” base plate, 3 large arm sets (13” long), 2 small arm sets (10” long), and the necessary hardware – current price $155 + shipping. I purchased this unit last fall (2019) The Rack-It System is capable of holding 6 Bessey Revo clamps per large arm and 4 Bessey Revo clamps (or 9 Jorgensen bar clamps) per small arm. Summary: While the overall unit is quite sturdy, I gave this 3 stars due to some MAJOR shipping mistakes an...

Light Duty All Purpose Trigger Clamps

Light Duty All Purpose Trigger Clamps

06-22-2020 05:16 PM by pintodeluxe | 2 comments »

These trigger clamps compete well with another brand of quick clamp you may be familiar with. The red trigger release is well positioned, and the overall size of the clamp is adequate and the grip feels good in the hand. These are light duty clamps, and while I wouldn’t use them for panel glueups, they certainly are handy to have in the shop. They’re perfect for gluing up a jewelry box or general shop clamps. The first picture shows size comparison between the EHKM and the competition. ...

Impressive Grip for a Trigger Clamp

Impressive Grip for a Trigger Clamp

Wow, these things are like trigger clamps on steroids! They’re rated at 600# clamping force, and I believe it. The handle is larger than the EHKL version, and the jaw pads are bigger too. They retain all the features of the smaller Bessey trigger clamps, like tool-free quick change to spreader mode. You can identify the EHKXL at a glance, because they have a metal release trigger. I used these clamps to straighten a bent siding board for nailing. It worked great. You really get a sense...

Handy Little Trigger Clamps

Handy Little Trigger Clamps

The Bessey line of Trigger clamps are handy to have around the shop. The nomenclature takes a little while to get used to. Names like EHKL and EHKXL don’t exactly roll off the tongue, but hey it’s the product that counts. These are like a beefed up version of the trigger clamps by another brand that you may be familiar with. In use, the clamp jaw pads don’t fall off, and the clamping mechanism is easy to operate. The EHKL clamps are rated at 300# of clamping force, which is adequate to c...

Rockler ho'-downs.

Rockler ho'-downs.

Boys and Girls, The question was voice (in text), so I thought I’d do a review (my opinion) on these Rockler Auto-Lock T-Track Hold Down Clamp (herewith referred to as Rockler clamp). While I have given them 5 stars, I would probably only rate them as 3 without my modifications. The gallery pictures show the clamp holding one to three 19mm separate pieces on the same tension setting. In all fairness, the pressure on the 3 pieces is less than that on the one, however, is still suffic...

Clamp it Shut with the "V"!

Boys and Girls, Before you venture further, some of the following text may be questionable to some… If you are sensitive, please exit now and don’t go crying to Cricket because of your forthcoming curiosity. Initially, I was anxious to pass on my brainwashing, however, was concerned about my tenure here at LJ due to some blaspheming about sideways picture… Staying on top, and determined not to be under turd… I am pressing on… though it may earn a “go to jail” from the publishers. If ...
