While constructing my entertainment center, I cut a mortise in the wrong position. As this mortise (slot) was cut in a location that would normally not be seen, I decided to use a stainable filler. I chose Elmer’s Carpenter’s Wood Filler Max Stainable. As you can see from the second photo, the result was quite good. I also used this product to cover some small holes made by the brad point of a forstner bit. In this case you can not see any evidence of hole or the product usage. ...

Like most woodworkers I have a variety of glues for various projects. I was sent a sample bottle of through the Handyman Club. To be honest, I tried this with some trepidation but was pleased at the results. On metal to wood it held every bit as well as Gorilla Glue which I normally use. Whereas polyurethane glue expands and oozes, Elmer’s ProBond Advanced performed without the messy cleanup. I can only testify to how it worked on the projects I did. The first project was wood to...
