Delta Invicta 37-150 - 6" Parallelgram Jointer

New here on LJ. First post. I just bought this Delta Invicta 37-150 – 6” Parallelgram Jointer for $425. Found locally on Craigslist…a very rare find where I live out in the rural West. It was made in Brazil in 1987. Needs new knives…(or a new shelix head!). This is my very first jointer. How did I do? (More updates on this review as I get this machine moved to my shop and set up) Peace

So for a while now i have wanted to upgrade from my old job site saw to a new Table Saw with a cast iron top. Like many of you i am on a budget as i have four children to raise so i think long and hard before purchasing a new tool like this. After much research i settled on the Delta because it had all the features i was looking for and at about half the price of the nearest competitor. Ive only had the saw for about 3 months now and as of now i LOVE IT!!! Its been a tremendous upgrade and i ...

Yet another Delta 36-725 review

Yet another Delta 36-725 review

I purchased the Delta 36-725 primarily based on reviews on this site, and due specifically to tinman’s review and setup instructions (https://www.lumberjocks.com/reviews/3822), which were invaluable when assembling and tuning the saw. Lowe’s delivered it and the box was pretty banged up, with styrofoam clearly visible through a couple of large tears in the cardboard so I was prepared for the worst. Fortunately, there was no damage to the saw itself. Assembly was a breeze. The blad...

Gravity assisted cross cut mobile stand!

Gravity assisted cross cut mobile stand!

Here you will see a 32 degree angled mobile stand to help with cross cutting large panels.Just kidding :) Just me wiggling it into place. For longest time, I used a mini pallet jack and DIY stands for my Powermatic 66 and Unisaw. With the PM66 off to a better home, only the Unisaw remains with me. I never liked the saw being raised 4-5” higher due to the DIY stand but put up with it, til now. With upcoming outfeed assembly table, I wanted the saw as low as possible. Way too many ric...

Craiglist Find

Craiglist Find

Picked this up off craiglist, my best guess is its a 37-220, serial# 70-1635, but its hard to tell for sure. Had to order new bearings for it, as one was frozen.A well made tools for its age, and even after sitting in poor condition was easily dissembled and reassembled. All parts were were made with quality materials, as you can see the brass block that lubricated the screw drives. This is a good tool for a small project worker. It dosn’t take much space and with the 6” wide bla...

Delta Q3 40-650

Delta Q3 40-650

For comparison, I own the Delta Q3 40-650 and an RBI Hawk 220-3, both great saws. The Hawk is a 3 speed saw (via belt pulley change) featuring parallel arms, and aluminum construction. The Delta Q3/40-650 is a variable speed saw leveraging a graphite C arm on a 90 pound chassis. The Delta has minimal vibration, likely the result of the low moving mass of the C arm coupled with the heavy chassis. The cutting speed is fast and “buttery” due to the non parallel C arm design....

DELTA 31-484 OSCILLATING - TILTING SPINDLE SANDER -UNBOXING AND REVIEW

DELTA 31-484 OSCILLATING - TILTING SPINDLE SANDER -UNBOXING AND REVIEW

11-05-2017 06:38 PM by Ryan Nicholson | 11 comments »

I purchased a Delta 31-484 1HP Oscillating -Tilting Spindle Sander from a Delta dealer on EBay. I chose this model because the spindle tilts on a trunion instead of the table having to tilt. Also the gear box runs in an oil bath which is super quiet and should last many years. Delivery went smooth and the machine was undamaged so I signed for it and welcomed the 400 pound monster into my shop. Over all, the fit and finish of the machine is good. The cast iron table top was dead flat except ...

POOR SERVICE AFTER THE SALE

POOR SERVICE AFTER THE SALE

10-09-2017 02:08 AM by cabo | 39 comments »

I did a lot of research before buying a sander , Some of the thing I wanted in the sander was , I wanted a Double drum sander , Pay a little extra now to save time later , Next I want it wide to sand 20 -24 wood panels, and at least be able to sand 6-8 thick or deeper , it case I wanted to sand a box or something, and a descent price ,so it came down to the Delta 26 inch wide 31-481 or the grizzly 24 inch model well I thought I done a lot of research , but I didn’t , I find any revi...

just got this saw set up this morning and put it to the test.so far I’m real happy with it.i intend this as second saw so I can set it up with dado blades to avoid changing blades back and forth.its wired for 110v but can be changed to 220v.after the setup I checked for squareness and found it to be right the money.the fence is smooth and locks firmly.the dust collection port is only 2.5” so I put on an adaptor to connect my 4” hose which did a great job catching most of wha...

My delta 36 725

Just thought I’d share my Delta 36 725. New on site but the reviews on here are the reason I went with it. It was down to it and Rigid saw. Kept looking on CL with no luck either cheap saws or out of my budget. I read all the horror stories on both saws. Found this site and several good reviews and all tips on set up so I purchased it. Set up wasnt bad thanks to tips on here. Only real problem I have is finally got riving knife acceptable and just gave up. I need the saw to be mobil but...
