Nice for the price, eeks so much plastic

Nice for the price, eeks so much plastic

Couple years ago I decided I needed a laser cross-line level. I know, real woodworkers climb ladders with 6-foot long bubble levels, and effortlessly hold them in place with one hand as they draw their lines, and never need to climb down, but move their ladders with graceful hip movements, like dancing the mambo. (Me, I’m more Funky Chicken, but the mambo is better for scooting ladders.) But I digress. There are laser levels for all kinds of purposes, like marking 90-degree an...

Flexible Cordless Drill System

Flexible Cordless Drill System

12-30-2019 11:38 PM by Rich | 24 comments »

This review is for the Bosch GSR12V-140FC Cordless Electric Screwdriver. It consists of a main driver unit and four attachments. There is a standard hex driver head, a right-angle head, a drill chuck head and an offset attachment with a hex driver mount. The right-angle attachment can accommodate any of the other three heads. I had had my eye on a similar unit from Milwaukee, but with a $229 price tag, I was waiting for a deal to come along. Earlier in December, Amazon had a $20 off de...

Dust problem with switch

Dust problem with switch

06-05-2019 01:15 AM by Jim Finn | 9 comments »

I like the Bosch saw a lot but after about a year the switch started sticking closed and I had to unplug the saw to make it stop. I blew it out with compressed air and that fixed it …for a few months. After the third time , today, I wrapped the switch in seran wrap, hoping to keep the dust out of this switch. I hope this works.

Bosch Miter Saw Crown Molding Stops

Bosch Miter Saw Crown Molding Stops

What is there to say but these are a must have. installation is not to too bad depending on the miter saw you have. And you may have to modify/shorten the tightening knobs. in my case things would have gone much smoother if I had removed the saw from my flip stand. I didn’t use the 4 short screws that come with the set since I was also in no mood to tap the holes and besides on most miter saws the metal is too thin and soft so I got few 8-32 screws and nuts and shortened them. the set ...

Bosch 1250DEVS 6-1/2-Amp 6-Inch Random Orbit Sander

Bosch 1250DEVS 6-1/2-Amp 6-Inch Random Orbit Sander

I make a lot of cutting boards over 300 thus far. I have always kicked around getting a 6 inch sander. I have 3 different 5” sanders and tons of 5 inch sandpaper. I kept hearing that a 6 inch has roughly 44% more surface area than a 5. I was looking at the Bosch and the Festool. Blondie gave me the green light on the Festool even with the 580 price tag. For some reason I just couldn’t do it. Maybe I’m afraid of the addiction that will come from it LOL I got my Bosch o...

Bosch REAXX Jobsite Saw

Bosch REAXX Jobsite Saw

10-01-2016 02:03 PM by Woodbridge | 17 comments »

I bought the new Bosch REAXX jobsite saw in July 2016. This is a great table saw for a woodworker who wants a high quality, powerful and accurate table saw but does not have the need or room for a larger cabinet , hybrid or contractor type table saw. If you work in a small basement shop or in your garage you will appreciate the small footprint and mobility of the saw. The REAXX table saw includes flesh sensing technology (Bosch calls it Active Response Technology). When the saw dete...

Does what it's supposed to do... with a bit of frustration

Does what it's supposed to do... with a bit of frustration

They say hind sight is 20/20. I recently bought this because my stand alone Craftsman (diecast deluxe router table and cabinet) was taking up too much space in my one car garage and with the recent purchase of my Delta 36-5000, I needed all the space possible. So, I sold the Craftsman and rather than take the money to build a router table between the saw’s rails, I bought the Bosch. And the reason why I choose this is because the table is exactly 27 inches and with some modifications...

A multi tool blade that makes a difference.

A multi tool blade that makes a difference.

Having used a multi-tool for a few years now I’ve come to really like this tool. My first time using was during a home remodel and I encountered a situation where I needed a notch but was afraid of the damage that a reciprocating saw would do. A chisel wasn’t an option so I bought me a cordless multi-tool that was compatible with my cordless tool batteries. I’ve since learned a 1001 uses for these things, the name really does fit. Along the way I’ve also learned abo...

A Saw For a Lifetime, Even for Proffessionals

A Saw For a Lifetime, Even for Proffessionals

02-09-2016 09:57 PM by Kelly | 6 comments »

For reference, this is my third Bosch saber saw. I bought my first one over twenty years ago. Before it, I bought “high end” B &D’s and others touted as professional quality. They all died within six months of heavy use. In contrast, I sold my first Bosch to my brother seven years after I bought it, when I upgraded [to the first model not requiring a screw driver for blade changes]. My first Bosch was a barrel and was bought by mistake. I had never used one before. A ...
