Wixey WR-700 Digital Fence Readout On SawStop CNS Contractor Saw--36" T-Glide Fence

Wixey WR-700 Digital Fence Readout On SawStop CNS Contractor Saw--36" T-Glide Fence

I received this Digital Readout (DRO) as a gift this Christmas and just installed it about a week ago on my SawStop CNS with 36” T-Glide fence. This actually gets a very, very rare 5-star review from me within these first few weeks of usage. Installation: I followed another Lumberjock’s SawStop installation instructions, avoiding the angle-brackets and mounting it directly to the SawStop’s front rail. I used #6 self-tapping metal screws (after pre-drilling pilot hole...

Wixey WR-700 Lighted TS DRO with 60" range & 0.005" resolution

Wixey WR-700 Lighted TS DRO with 60" range & 0.005" resolution

Was on a different thread and I saw this Wixey TS DRO. I already have an Incra on the TS and it works perfectly. The only drawback is that the crosshair is far over to the right and, for my eyes anyway, it’s a bit hard to resolve the 1/32” lines. Incra cross hair. The Wixey WR-700 brings an easy to read, lighted digital readout to the table saw. Those familiar with my work know I use DRO’s on most everything. I have digital angle cube, digital 8” caliper, 6”...

Wixey WR25 digital height gauge review

Wixey WR25 digital height gauge review

I bought this several years ago and thought I’d write a review. It works great, I use it on every cut on my router table to set bit height and occasionally to set offset from the fence. I also use it on the table saw to set dado or groove heights of the blade. It has magnets in the feet to hold it in place. It reads fractions when within .002” of a particular fraction while in decimal mode, and can be set for fractions of an inch and mm. It can be zeroed for incremental adjustment...

I recently bought a dewalt planer and amazon suggested i buy a wr510 with it. It was only $47, so I did. 2 weeks later its now $63 on amazon…. Installation was kinda hard at the begining. I would have paid $10-15 more if it came with a replacement bracket that you can take off the dewalt (see black bracket in 2nd picture). The double sided tape makes it difficult to get it lined up exactly so the bottom of it is flush with the bottom of the planer surface. They suggest it be lev...

The most useful accessory in my shop

The most useful accessory in my shop

I’ve had a Wixey saw fence digital readout for many years. I bought one when they first came out and recently had to replace the readout unit as mine finally quit working. During the short period of time I was without it, while waiting for the replacement to arrive, I realized how much I rely on this little miracle gadget. Pricing is reasonable too – $120 for a complete set up and $28 for a replacement readout. For those of you that don’t have one, the readout slides ...

WR365 - Makes woodworking more fun

I hate the phrase, “game changer,” but honestly it fits this product. I’ve always dreaded changing angles on my saws because getting them to any specific angle can be fiddly. But getting perfect angles with the Wixey is a breeze. My daughter wanted to build a cube with all edges mitered, so each corner was 3 compound miters meeting at a point. In the past I would have said no way because if your angles are off even a hair, it will show in the final product. But we had no tro...

2nd Joy upon my eyes

This follows my “Wixey WR 550 remote planer readout review for my Jet 15””, but this review is for the the smaller Wixey WR 510 upon my Rigid 13” planer. Yes, I have two planers so need 2 Wixey’s! I’ve been using the WR510 for a year and loved it for it’s accuracy and ease. I almost only give it 4 stars because it does not use the popular AAA batteries it’s bigger cousin WR 550 uses but instead uses the lithium coin type of battery (not somet...

Oh the joy upon my eyes

I bought this Wixey WR 550 for Christmas but just got around to installing in on my Jet 15” planer. I followed fellow LJ “jwisbey” for installation after reading his review. I did not have spare metric socket head bolts so had to go to Ace Hardware to grab a couple. Whalla. Easy installation and easy calibration. Verified with calipers. The first run was off by 0.003.I originally purchased this because my eyes are starting to get old so the big numbers on the LCD scree...

Great Calipers

Great Calipers

I got this caliper some time ago, but have not had a chance to put it to use. Well during my table saw rebuild project I put it to use. I bought this based on the name, and the reviews other folks have provided for other wixey measuring devices (planer, table saw, etc) so I decided to give this a go. Overall I’m impressed with this, and would definitely recommend it, if you need a set of calipers. I used it to measure the bearings, the overall height, diameter, as well as the bore...

Wixey WR525 Remote Digital Readout

Wixey WR525 Remote Digital Readout

This is a great addition for your drill press. I first came across the wixey digital readout in an article in Woodsmith December 2008 No. 180 issue, and saved it in my drill press file. Then after agonizing over set ups for months I finally decided to buy the unit. The article does provide some basic ideas to attach components to you drill press. I have had it for several years and it has worked great. The only problem I had was operator error! The battery drains if you forget to...
