Zero Clearance Tape for miter saws from Fast Cap

Zero Clearance Tape for miter saws from Fast Cap

02-22-2022 02:53 AM by Sark | 4 comments »

Saw this reviewed on a YouTube video and I knew I had to try it. Utterly simple idea—-a sturdy tape to create zero clearance on your chop saw. To install, I used an oscillating tool to allow the tape to slide under the miter saw fence. Cut the tape ends to fit and stuck in on the saw. Can’t get much easier than that. In that the miter-saw turntable is slightly lower than the supporting flat surface of the saw, the tape brought the elevation of the cut to exactly the same height as the c...

Great Trim Jig

Great Trim Jig

I bought this based on the previous review. I am building some drawer units with 1/2” plywood edge with 1/2×1/2 Oak strips. When I have done this in the past, it has taken a lot of time to get the oak even with the plywood. With the Little Lipper it was a very fast easy process. I did have to drill a hole in the bottom plate of the router but this was easy. For a router bit, I used a 3 cutter Freud bit and it left a smooth cut. I wish that I had this in the past.

Little Lipper flush trim router guide

Little Lipper flush trim router guide

I’ve bought this guide a while ago but never had the occasion to use it. Well, today I finally had the chance to try it, and I’m very impressed. I’m building a removable bench top with dog holes that is trimmed with 3/4” poplar. I intentionally left the trim about 1/16” proud, chucked up a flush trim bit, attached the guide to the base of my trim router, and let ‘er rip. The result was a perfectly flush edge with no tearout. In use you lightly hold the router body and put most of your pres...

FastCap Track Rack optimal storage for your track saw track

FastCap Track Rack optimal storage for your track saw track

Hi all Recent buy, and it’s a winner. Anyone who has a track saw has probably realized the potential for the track itself to become bent, or not functional. I’ve heard a few horror stories. I have been lucky, and have not had a problem, but it is a storage problem to hide a 9’ long track and never have it get hit while moving around large boards. I happened upon this FastCap Track Rack, it was on sale, and I thought this is a good thing. https://www.amazon.com/FastC...

Great way to organize drawers full of tools

Great way to organize drawers full of tools

10-23-2018 04:39 PM by EarlS | 8 comments »

I bought several sheets of FastCap Kaizen foam to use to organize my tool drawers after seeing pictures of it on Rockler’s website. I really like the way that I’m able to keep all of the tools displayed and organized so I know where they belong when I clean up the shop. I give it 4 stars rather than 5 because of the lack of instructions on how to properly work with the foam. The pictures on label don’t qualify as instructions. Rockler’s price and free shipping ma...

FastCap PMS12 Pro Carpenter Metric/Standard Measuring Tape

FastCap PMS12 Pro Carpenter Metric/Standard Measuring Tape

Recently I received the FasstCap T2001 Flatback Measuring Tape as a gift and was very impressed with it but it is a standard measuring tape and in my efforts to go metric (just because it is SO much easier to add, multiply, subtract and divide measurement) I was disappointed. I called FastCap and they were kind enough to send me a PSM12 Metric/Standard tape and I’m super pleased with it, following are some of the highlights.1) I already mentioned that it is a metric/standard tape.2) The...

Fastcap RCV remote is a great timesaver

Fastcap RCV remote is a great timesaver

Recently I’ve completed several improvements to dust collection in my small shop. One of the goals was simple, to use the DC at all times. However, I had a floor switch for the DC that I had to walk to and press to turn on DC.Purchased this unit at Rockler for ~$30. Installation was less than 5 minutes. I have it connected to a HF 2hp DC.Have no problems with it and now I carry the remote with me using a clip. Not only do I use the DC more often, it is a timesaver too.

FastCap Fastbreak

FastCap Fastbreak

Just a quick review.I picked up a FastCap Fastbreak sander the other day at Menards. I an currently building a router cabinet and working on the drawers which will have the plywood edges covered with veneer tape. This little thing is pretty cool. It works great for putting on a slight bevel on the veneer let alone cleaning up the edges of the bare plywood. It really makes short work of treating the edges. I highly recommend this.

FastCap Gave Me The Finger ...

FastCap Gave Me The Finger ...

... and I like it! A few weeks ago, I responded to a promotional email from FastCap and they sent me their new ’11th Finger’ for free. Some people here on LJ’s scoffed at it, but I actually kind of like it. It stands within easy reach on my saw’s fence or the table, and works as well as any other push stick I have ever used. There is one downside … the two rare-earth magnets in the base are just friction fit and can come out if you mistakenly lay the ...

FastCap Taper Lock Bit Holder

FastCap Taper Lock Bit Holder

02-27-2014 09:34 PM by Spur | 2 comments »

I purchased this because I wanted to make myself a screwdriver, but I am now going to have to get one or two more for my electric drivers. The only difference between the one I got in the mail and the one pictured in the second picture is the shank is black on mine. Why I love it: -Small profile, hardly bigger than any other bit holder you would put in to your driver-Almost no play in the bit at all-Holds the bit SECURELY! It has a magnetic thing going on but it also has some kind of fr...
