Incredibly worthless JUNK!

Incredibly worthless JUNK!

I purchased this 5 roller stand at a local woodworker supply store recently. It’s embarrassingly bad. 1. The rollers are secured to the frame with bent over cotter pins and washers. Gouging your hand on these is pretty likely because they didn’t even bother to cut the shaft to length properly, it’s sticks out from the side frame about 3/4 of an inch in mid air. 2. Because the rollers are not bolted to the side frames there’s zero rigidity and there’s so muc...

This is a review for the D2260A as pictured above. Note the box carefully; this one claims a 1000 lb weight limit and clearly shows polyurethane-covered cast iron wheels (which it DID include). Note too that this unit has a recent manufacturing date, marked as late last year (2020). However, this model is also sold – using the same part number D2260A – as having a 600 lb weight limit and sporting plastic/rubber wheels. This review is ONLY for the 1000 lb rated version with the cas...

Shop Fox D4666 - Heavy Duty Mobile Base review

Shop Fox D4666 - Heavy Duty Mobile Base review

I went looking for a mobile base for my recently-acquired Delta 36-649 table saw with T2 30” fence. I found the Shop Fox D2057A ($95) and the D4666 ($100) at the local tool store, but I’ve read the problems many have had with the plastic wheels on the D2057A so I opted for the D4666. I’m sorry to say that I’m a bit disappointed, even at only $100. This model does come with what appear to be cast iron wheels with a polyurethane “tire”. However, they l...

A good quality low cost fence...with some quirks.

A good quality low cost fence...with some quirks.

Always had a soft spot for Craftsman Contractors saws, as I kinda grew up with the men in my life using them. When I started my Biz, I started with a 70’s vintage cast iron top contractor saw, decked out with Vega Fence, out feed tables etc. Anyway, naturally upgraded to a cabinet saw, and in a moment of weakness…sold my old 113. saw. Regreted it ever since. So a couple of months ago passed a 113.298 on the curb for bulk garbage day, and I rescued it. Yeah it has aluminum top..but...

Heavy Duty Mobile Base

Heavy Duty Mobile Base

Picked this up on Grizzly’s site. Had been needing to get a base under the 12” jointer I bought awhile back now. Only machine that wasn’t mobile so I’ve been wanting to get that done. Not sure what it weighed, but it’s a beast so I wanted something that it wouldn’t max out. This option was really not too bad in cost, but I did need extensions for the length as it wouldn’t make it. For those needing it for a jointer like this, it did pose a problem as it only went down to around 18” and I need...

Picture sort of tells the storey, have had this mallet for a few years but never used it as found it to large for any purposes I had. Went to give a holdfast a tap and, well look what happened?Purchased a Wood is Good 12 oz. mallet a month ago and just by appearance and feel, can tell the difference.Needless to say my future purchases of any Shop Fox product may be influenced?

Drill Press Compound Vise

I don’t normally review tools as there are so many and every person has different expectations of the product, based on their use. I purchased this “entry level” Shop Fox drill press vise a few months ago off of E-Bay.several vendors sell basically the same thing, all come from China or other Asian country.once I got all the grease out of it and got it dialed in, it is very simple to operate.you may have to redrill the bolt pattern to fit your table. all in all, this is ...

Solid racks, decent price, great value, almost perfect

Solid racks, decent price, great value, almost perfect

I love just about everything about this multi pack of clamp racks… except the pipe clamp rack. I don’t have any pipe clamps. Honestly, I wish I could have gotten a decent deal on a 2-pack, rather than the 3-pack. I wanted a parallel clamp rack and an f-style clamp rack, and this pack was the lowest cost option to get those two. The alternative was to get a 3-pack of either the f-style or the parallel rack and a single of the other one, or to get two singles. Amazon didn’t ha...

Shop Fox Aluma Classic 1720

Just installed this fence on my saw a 26 year old delta contractors saw.The original fence was never truly square to the blade, what a differance with this new fence. I feel like I bought a new saw.Install was a breeze no drilling required had it installed in about 20 minutes and 10 more minutes to adjust fence to the blade. This fence locks up square every time I would recommendd this fence to anyone without reservation. The only thing I miss is the micro adjustment that was on the old fence.
