These trigger clamps compete well with another brand of quick clamp you may be familiar with. The red trigger release is well positioned, and the overall size of the clamp is adequate and the grip feels good in the hand. These are light duty clamps, and while I wouldn’t use them for panel glueups, they certainly are handy to have in the shop. They’re perfect for gluing up a jewelry box or general shop clamps.

The first picture shows size comparison between the EHKM and the competition. I would say the Bessey looks and feels a little bigger and more rubust. The second picture shows one EHKM next to a pair of 4-1/2” EHKMicro trigger clamps for scale.

If your comparing the two clamps in the first picture, your comparing apples to oranges. Your comparing the light duty Irwins to the medium duty Bessey. Not trying to be negative, but for your info.

The Bessey EHKM has 100 lbs of clamping force. The same size Irwin (which you have pictured) light duty has 150 lbs clamping force. Both brands offer up to 50” in their heavy duty style.

The Bessey EHKL (I believe you have pictured) has 300 lbs clamping force. The same size Irwin medium duty has 300 lbs clamping force.

The Bessey EHKXL has 600 lbs clamping force. The Irwin XP600 heavy duty has 600 lbs clamping focre and a larger face pad.

Irwin Also costs less than the Bessey. Bessey does make a good clamp, but I feel the release trigger is better in the Irwin. I still prefer the Quick-Grips over the Bessey.

Thanks for weighing in. The light or medium duty clamps of either brand have a somewhat limited range of tasks they’re appropriate for. Once you step up to the EHKL or EHKXL they become super useful.

Cheers
