Hello Jocks and a Happy Holiday to all. Well I finally upgrade my band saw situation in my shop. With the help of all the Grizzly jock owner here at the site it was probably the deciding factor in my selection. Although this model G0457 had not been review as of yet this one caught my eye in my final selection. Price comparable to the 17” Grizzly with a resaw capacity of 12” the G0457 come in at 10” but with the same 2HP motor and I beam steel construction. The main reason I when with the 14” was space in my small garage shop and band saw needs. Price online at 895.00…ouch , I than read a review in FWW mag. and the price in the review was 795.00 I call the customer service rep. on Black Friday and she said that this was a promo. ad and that she would honor that price. She also pass along free shipping which save me another 89.00 if I order on Blk. Friday . The following Wednesday the delivery truck came with a lift gate service which was a big surprise. The driver pull right up to the garage with the saw loaded on a plate and fork lift and placed inside the garage with me not lifting a finger…how sweet is that. I had to wait til the week-end to assemble. This was probably the big surprise of all and I’m not exaggerating in less than 2hrs. I was cutting wood with the supplied blade which I knew was not long for this saw. I order my new blades from Timber Wolf which arrived Tues. of this week and now I’m cooking with one sweet piece of machinery. I couldn’t resist the urge to re saw a small piece of curly maple which is in the above pic and how satisfying it is to cut with such ease of effort….I in band saw heaven. In the article in FWW this saw received best value rate saw over all other 14” saw review, with poor mark for change of blade being very difficult. I found this to be totally “FALSE”. It take all but minute to change out and on my best effort 30 sec. also the quick tension release is nice to have as well. So far I found this purchase as a nice up grade for the shop, looking forward to many years of ware and tear, thanks again to all the Grizzly user on the site you help make this purchase a great one….Wilson aka Blkcherry

congratulations, looks like a great saw! very similar to the Rikon 14” Deluxe saw (the one I have) which was also rated poorly for blade change on the FWW article. it’s not totally false. I never found it to be a huge ordeal to change blades, but compared to the cast iron bandsaws it’s slightly more complicated. still, I would take the steel body saws over the CI ones anyday.

enjoy the new capabilities!

Congrats Wilson on the new saw. Your posting is pretty timely as I have also decided on the Grizzly G0457. Were you considering and other saws before you decided to buy the Grizzly? I would buy it tomorrow if I could get the same deal you did!

Grats on the saw….I have enjoyed my Grizzly for over a year now with no regrets…...Hopefully, they will keep up the great customer support along with decent pricing….the only thing I had to do with my saw was replace the OEM blade also….but I would typically do that anyway.

Happy Holidays…..I was wondering how santa was going to get an 8” jointer down my chimney? But if he can do a bandsaw then perhaps I won’t have to do a bunch of modification….LOL

PurpLev I like the phase “enjoy the new capabilities” you are so dead on…Thanks Don try calling Grizzly and use this promo code (09WoodM.) and you should receive the 100.00 off. and maybe the shipping will be added as well its worth a try. It truly is a well built saw and a breeze to assemble. Let me know what you decide… and thank guy for reading this review…WC Blkcherry

This is a nice review. I am sure this is going to be a good addition to your shop. I have always had a great deal of respect for both Grizzly tools and their customer service.

The good folks at Grizzly responded at 8:12 this morning to an email I sent last night to tell me that the deal you got is good thru Dec. 31st. Thanks for posting, you saved me $189.00 off retail!

I’m very sorry to hear what has transpired with Grizzly Jeff, two for two would leave me with the same ill feelings. I hope that you can work thing out with Grizzly and have a great performing saw. Wilson
