When you click a project, scroll the banner ad up off the top of the page before you click “Zoom Pictures”.

It’s a bit of a pain but you get used to it. :-)

Adblock. You’ll wonder how you ever surfed the web without it.

Adblock now allows ads to bypass their software if the company pays them. I use and recommend ublock origin.

When I use my computer with ad block I have no problems at all. But, I use my tablet 99% of the time and experience the same issues. Sometimes it gets so bad waiting for ads to load I just close the browser. Has anyone found a good ad block for tablets with android?

I use the Dolphin Web Browser for IOS. There is a version for android that has the same adblock features. It’s a really good browser.

No software needed or its unnecessary overhead – just use a appropriate HOSTS file. Works on all platforms and is free.

OK, just installed “Free adblocker browser” from the app store and it works perfectly. I use a Samsung tab A tablet. Everything pops right up, no more delay, banners or ads.

When blocking ads is just a click away, why would any web site make their ads annoying, slow and intrusive?

I’m surprised more websites don’t allow you to pay to remove ads or offer other upgrades for a fee. I’ve seen some where you have to pay to change your username or avatar or to get access to certain subforums. When you depend on advertising it makes you beholden to advertisers, look at the ongoing YouTube debacle.

1. You can’t block ads on an iPad (that I know if) so the image zoom is basically useless on my iPad. Insane that they’d do that.

2. The worse part is the none of the adds is even relevant to me. I just had four amazon cosmetics ads (dupes and completely irrelevant in the first place … let’s advertise cosmetics on a woodworking website), and six ads for products that I already own. It’s bad enough to be harassed by these ads, but the fact that they make no sense is just infuriating.

Several browsers for IOS have ad blocking features. I mentioned one that I use in my response to this thread back at #7.
