Lubricating a Delta 31-396 Oscillating Edge Sander

Well, no replies yet, but here’s an update:

Delta has been of little to no help. Evidently, they moved recently and only 1 member of the tech staff decided to move also.

I bought a new grease gun and was able to grease the fittings, although the grease went in reluctantly on a couple zerks. I used Mobilith grease, which is a mineral based lithium complex grease.

I still have not heard whether I can use automotive 80W-90 gear oil in the gear box. Still waiting on Delta to reply.

And the oil ports are still a complete mystery. They are too small to be a grease fitting, and a standard pump oil can will not mate either.

I use outboard motor oil in gearboxes. I
think I saw it recommended in a manual
for a machine I owned. YMMV.
