Reo, you’re about a month or two late. There was a very large lathe for sale in Marana near Tucson for well over 2 years. I don’t remember seeing it in the last 2 months. It was on Craigslist all that time. Now, it’s gone. Try contacting Al at this link, http://www.alsmachinery.com/index.html . He might be able to help. Might even know who was selling the big lathe. He buys and sells machinery after repairing them. Might even have the parts you need. I’ve been to his place, and only saw a fraction of what he has on his property.. ............ Jerry (in Tucson)

Google Earth this address 5141 East Canada Street. Tucson AZ, 85706 to get a glimps of what Nubs has told you. I don’t know what this area of the world is but one thing for sure is that it is very interesting. Street view will let you see their building. I would love to spend a few days there. larry

Try looking at “BidSpotter.com” . They list auctions all over the US and frequently have large lathes.

Many times a piece of equipment that should be scrap iron turns to gold at the machinery jockeys warehouse. I dont mind paying a fair price but paying the storage bill for the last twenty years….. well you know what I mean. thanks for the info it gives me a few more corners to shine the flashlight into. Several of the used machinery guys have closed up here in the twin cities. warehouse space reductions have lead to inventory reductions and a lot of the borderline stuff was scrapped.

You know about owwm.org, REO?

You can read and post for-sale/wanted
listings for wood and metal machinery
there if you’re a member. Non-members
can’t even see the listings.

I noticed. I had to dig it out of storage so I could give Reo a heads up. For 90 thousand dollars, and 2” short of what he was looking for, he might not be interested…........... Jerry (in Tucson)
