I would do it without any hardware.
Make it lift into a slot and drop into a dado like so,

No time to shoot a drawing but many of the franchise build outs I’ve done the false fronts on the front counter millwork has an overlay panel with a french cleat on the back with the other side of the french cleat set about a 1/4 down in the opening. We only need access behind the panels for water supply and electrical plug ins etc, so the cleat in the top of the opening is no big deal and when you need to open it you just lift the panel, real simple and slick.
