Definitely worth consideration. Interesting to see the cost of the plane and accessories.

Yeah, we’ve been discussing it a little over in the #45/Combination Plane thread. It all comes down to price… And hopefully the irons work in a regular #45. Hurry up and wait…

If the irons work in a regular 45 then they probably have my money. If the whole kit isn’t bad I’ll sell my 45 to Mos and buy the rig. ;)

Regular 45 blades will fit in the veritas, but I don’t remember for certain if the veritas blades will fit in a 45. I think so, but can’t remember for sure.

I preordered one at Handworks 2017. I’ll try to put together a review once I get it.

It’s exactly your type Mos. Lots of curves and stuff.

Actually I don’t remember the type but you will. It’s the first year with the microadjust for the fence. Has the original box and blades in their sleeves. You’re the one that told me to buy it. Lol you’ve probably told many though.

So many freaking knobs. Whaddya making? Don’t bother me, I’m turning knobs. It’s time for lunch, you started turning knobs at 7 a.m. SHUT UP, I NEED TO CONCENTRATE ON THE KNOBS!

I don’t know if I should sell my small plow and get this.

If it works well, I’ll deal with the knobs! Kudos for them coming up with this thing.

I agree Colonel. I was wondering if I’m even smart enough to use it when I watched the short demo. Then I just kept staring at all that knurled brass and why I was wiping the drool from my lip I figured I just didn’t care.

Veritas sure knows how to combine brass and black powder coat to create drool-worthy tools.

Yes, there are a ton of knobs. Didn’t seem too overwhelming playing with it at Handworks, but I did have one of the Lee Valley guys standing right there as I was playing with it. I think they had one guy in the booth whose sole job was wiping the drool off the plane after each prospective customer finished.

I think you will have many people looking forward to the review on that plane when you get it Dave.

Is there an official release date yet? I’m curious on the cost.

What I remember is “August,” but I don’t remember whether that was official release or pre-orders start shipping or what.

And sit quietly in the back seat and quit teasing your sister or I’ll pull this car RIGHT over, young man. We are not there yet.

In the past, LV would let you try out a tool in the store. I’ll let you know if I can try it out at least at 2 of the 3 LV stores in Toronto (the farthest is likely a 45 minute drive so not worth it).

My local store (saskatoon) is just a five minute drive away. Will definitely be checking it out.
