so the question is what to do with the ground wire on the 14 gauge cord?

Just ignore it.

I prefer OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) parts when possible.

I’m not sure of the ground wire in your question though.

You don’t need an OEM cord. Use the 14ga cord and either tape up the ground wire or just flush cut it, you don’t need it for your saw.

Yes, I found that part online too and I also prefer OEM as well but in this case I’d rather not pay $22 bucks for something that I can get for $9 bucks and not have to wait for delivery.
