For my pov I went with the Laguna 14/12 and do not regret it at all got it when they first came out. It’s a good to have quality equipment in the shop.

Thanks, that has been on the top of my list for awhile! No issues that have come up since you been using it? I feel like the reviews only note the bad and they only used the saw for a week or two! Thanks for your help!

As far as I know general makes solid equipment out of Canada.

The only thing I changed is they have a slotted block below the table and the blade goes through it. It is to help with dust collection. I took that out as the slot was to wide and to much saw dust would wind up in the lower compartment for my liking. I took a piece of plywood and cut it to the same size started the saw up and carefully inserted the plywood block and presto I had a zero clearance insert it works great hardly anything goes into the compartment now.

Thanks pauljuilleret, I am all about the modifications!

TheFridge, have you used any of the General equipment, I looked at some the other day and looks pretty good and has a nicer price point! Everything is made in Taiwan anyway no matter what brand as I understand, for whatever reason I still have reservations about General, King, Stallion, etc…..

I haven’t. Just what I’ve heard from others that have and a little research here and there when I was looking at buying a saw.

My buddy has a laguna. Pretty sure he loves it. Hard to go wrong with a PM as well.

Yes, that is my problem…. There is so many great saws out, I am sure I will be happy with whatever I end up choosing. I have a long history with PM and own a PM jointer and love it…..
