My motto is, if HomePot sells it, don’t buy it.

Thanks Mike, but have you used it? If not thanks anyway, but I’ve been ok with a few tools I have gotten at home depot. I’m sure if I were a professional woodworker I wouldn’t buy there (maybe) but who knows.

Thanks again

Not sure where they get the “diamond grindstone” part – manual says its a 220 grit wheel and the same type of dressing stone is used as for all the other wet sharpeners. You can dis the Grizzly version all you want – mine has worked well for the 6-7 yrs Ive had it. This one is 2x the cost and appears to be the same basic machine. Without going into detail, a wet sharpener is not the best choice for plane blades & chisels. The polished serrated edge doesnt last long. Primarily use mine for re-sharpening lathe gouges and scrapers, and use a dry grinder to shape them. But, its your $.

That’s just a stupid motto that has no merit. Your loss!

Watch Craigs list and the Bay for an older HF Central machinery slow speed wet grinder. I bought mine new in 2002 for $59. It works perfectly now just like when it was brand new. 8” slow, wet wheel and 5” fast dry wheel.

Thanks for the replies guys.

OSU, thanks for that. I wasn’t trying to diss the grizzly. I would happily buy that one, (and maybe I will, but will have to save a bit), I just was asking after the triton because I have a few home depot gift cards that could be used is all. Thanks for letting me know that it has lasted a while too, that might influence the decision.
