It’s no fun unless you post prices with the pictures.

Glad you are having fun.

Mrs. Mainiac voted this one most comfy… Only a cool $4k

Here’s a more mod. piece

To get the leather so white they use hide imported from Germany

Walnut dining table and chairs, about $20K

The sales clerk, Jess, was very welcoming and knowledgeable. I suggested that my wife to take her boots off B4 sitting in the chairs and set her purse on the floor instead of the table and Jess told us not to worry about that. Of course we did anyways.

They employ ~60 craftsmen in Auburn, ME. I’ve driven by the factory and have heard that they both pay and take good care of their people. Their Cherry comes from PA and their Walnut from MO. Each piece is built by one individual craftsman (though I think sanding and finishing are done in batches by others) and is signed upon completion…

I’ve read that the genius off the outfit is TM’s wife (Sue?) who runs the sales and marketing side of the biz.

Here’s a Maloof inspired rocker…

And thus ends my virtual tour. I hope you enjoyed it.

Aside from the little three legged circle top Shaker table, there wasn’t a single piece in the showroom that didn’t look very difficult. Lots of bent framing members and many were bent in two planes.

I put the prices in by request, I’m in no way trying to imply that they are too high (or too low). Like anything else in a free market system, it’s value is determined by what people are willing to pay. I don’t think there ever was a time in history when fine furniture wasn’t a luxury that only wealthy people could afford. TM found a way to tap that market by investing in very strategically placed (and no doubt expensive) show rooms.

If you want a real treat, go to their web site and request their catalog. They’ll send it too you for free and it is quite a work of art itself.

I am not criticizing anyone’s prices. I would gleefully charge those prices if I had the local market for it.

Well worth the 2.5 min. Brings a smile to my face.
