Need help swapping out chucks onn my Delta drill press....

Not sure what DP you have, but that is most likely a JT33 taper the chuck fits on (DP-42 is a Jacobs chuck). The taper should be part of the spindle and not separate from it. If you want to change it, you change out the spindle itself (instructions can be found here).

Open your old chuck completely. look inside and see if there is a screw head. If so unscrew the chuck from the shaft. (left hand threads) reuse the shaft by screwing on a new chuck.

Well it looks like I have some bizarre Jacobs 2 SHORT arbor….which they don’t even make new chucks for….gross
