I replaced the surface of our deck last summer. I went with Timbertech. Very happy so far.

I don’t know if anything has changed with trex in the last 5-7 years, but I know a few folks that had used trex and had pretty bad mold and mildew problems. one even had the decking rotting. I think there were some lawsuits against them, too.

I’ve used Trex. no problems. framing must be 16 in O.C. so check that. Some decks were built 24 in O.C.

What part of the country are you in? I am in TX and my neighbor’s composite deck gets smoking hot in the summer.

A friend of mine put in Trex several years ago and had moisture problems. He told me that they have changed their design since then. I am planning on using Trex myself. Mostly a style choice for me between Trex and Timbertech.
