You should be able to, in fact yours will be easier than most that have rounded ends.

You don’t want it to flex so make the insert at least 3/8” thick of solid wood. You can use the manufacturer’s insert with a pattern bit.

You may have to cut a few notches or rabbet the sides to fit.

An make at least a half dozen of them for angled cuts, dado’s etc.
