I just purchased the Rikon 10-326 a week ago and am very impressed. I had a Jet bandsaw many years ago (can’t remember model), so this is only my second foray into bandsaws, but the top-notch quality and features of the Rikon (as well as the very reasonable price) are what sold me on the Rikon. The tool-less blade guide adjustment system works very well—I changed out the stock blade for a 1/4” timber wolf. I can’t speak for the laguna based on experience, but just based on visual differences at the woodcraft store, the rikon looked to be higher quality. Woodcraft is having a 15% off sale in March, and the store I went to in Virginia Beach honored the sale price early, so that put me over the line… you definitely want to purchase the mobile base ($79). Very happy with my purchase so far!

I myself am in the band saw market for the first time. Couple points I can offer. The first – I am completing a project which required table leg band saw cuts and used my neighbors Grizzly 17” band saw for the cuts. It worked OK and I don’t think my neighbor had the saw set up perfectly but it was adequate – still required a lot of sanding. Second point is with regards to Laguna customer service. I purchased the 3hp C-Flux dust collector for my Christmas present. I had a slight problem with the assembly instructions. I called Laguna customer service and had to leave a message. I was thinking – great, we will see how long it takes to receive a response. I received a call back within 5 minutes. They told me to take a picture and send it to them, I did this while they stayed on the line. I had a faulty part, they sent it next day air along with something for my trouble. I have zero complaints and was extremely impressed. Impressed enough to make the 14bx my choice for the band saw. Good luck with your choice – just figured I would offer a fresh experience with laguna customer service.

There are a bunch of threads lately on new bandsaws. I’ve narrowed mine down to the 326. For my needs it will work fine and I like a 5 yr warranty plus the other goodies. I almost talked myself up to the 14bx but couldn’t justify the extra money for making small boxes and resawing boards less than 8”

I have the 14bx 1.75HP model. The features I like are the foot brake, guides are easy to manipulate and blade changes are a snaps. I am very happy with it. Also, I had an issue with a few parts and laguna delivered them in 2 days.
I invested in the mobile base and light. I am very happy with the performance and capacity.

I purchased a 10-326 over the weekend and I am just waiting for it to be delivered. I talked myself down from the Laguna because I just couldn’t justify the extra $400 for my small shop.
